What our clients say

It is with pleasure that I provide this commendation in relation to the Board Performance Review program that Governance Matters provided for our credit union in 2005.

The program through its structure and thoroughness has made a great difference in the functioning, efficiency and general operation of our Board.

The process enabled some areas of sensitivity between directors and senior management to be aired and addressed and as a result the Board and senior management have become even more focused on achieving the agreed Goals to deliver the credit union's Strategic Plan.

I have no hesitation in recommending the program to any organisation that is seeking a very clear and precise Board Performance Review that will, through its defined action steps, deliver a framework for best practice governance.

"Our board was intent on adopting a best practice evaluation process as a prelude to APRA requirements. The process involved an initial presentation to the board, observation of a board and a committee meeting, the list of survey instruments, one-on-one meetings with directors and the presentation of a report on findings and recommendations.

We highly commend GM's professional approach to the evaluation. It was handled with sensitivity, thoroughness and timeliness, based on our regulatory and legal regime and current notions of governance best practice. Our report made practical recommendations for governance improvement, in areas such as strategic issues through to board dynamics, all of which were accepted by the board and, subsequently, implemented.

Governance Matters extensive experience in the area proved invaluable to Savings and Loans".
